When Larry Dunlap left Seymour Heller’s office as an associate artist’s manager in 1974, he partnered with Scott Norton to form The Management Tree, managing and producing several up and coming bands in Southern California. Scott found a privately owned studio for lease in Studio City, which was used to rehearse new bands. Locating a used 16-track recorder and other odds and ends, Scott created a studio where they could produce demos for record companies for their bands. Later, they expanded their studio into City Recorders in the Sunset-Gower studios in Hollywood.
